The London based jewelry designer of Sabine G. recently escaped to the Bahamas for a little r&r and found time to send us this postcard from her trip.
Where you went:
Harbour Island in the Bahamas
Who did you go with:
My then boyfriend, now fiancé, and a close group of friends.
Place where you stayed:
At David Hicks’s house.
Where you ate:
We enjoyed cooking at home and also went to The Landing, Pink Sands, the Dunmore and the Rock House for lunches and dinners.
Local delicacy you feasted on:
The conch salad.
Cocktail you sipped:
Piña Coladas
Books you read:
I was too busy drinking!
Music you listened to:
A lot of reggae music.
My uniform there was:
A linen shirt, a swimming suit and flat sandals.
Items you packed in your suitcase:
I packed very light for once. Lots of linen shirts, Eres swimsuits, a few casual dresses by Loretta Caponi, Levis shorts, and sandals.
Beauty-essentials you packed:
No makeup–I took a brake. Moisturizing cream from Avene Hydrance Optimale Rich, and body creams from Piz Buin.
In the day we:
Snorkeled, walked along the beach and listened to good music.
And at night we:
Had dinner out and went for drinks in fun places by the port.
Secret only a local would know:
Hold on to your golf cart!
Favorite place to find local treasures:
India Hicks’s very chic boutique in town.
First time visitors must:
Make a stop at the Vic-Hum bar.
I love it here because:
It is simple, untouched, and not flooded with tourists.
