With a list of Hollywood A-listers including Naomi Watts and Suki Waterhouse as her clients, celebrity stylist Jeanann Williams knows a thing or two about dressing well. Here she shares her plans (and packing tips!) for her upcoming trip to Greece.
Where are you going on your summer holiday?
I’m heading to Greece at the end of the month with a dear friend. A ladies trip. Patmos, Santorini, Mykonos.
What carry-on bag are you bringing?
My favorite carry-on bag is Louis Vuitton. It’s cherry-red patent leather. I love a pop of color–and I’ve never seen anyone with the same.
What about your luggage?
My luggage is teal, so I can always see it coming in a sea of black bags.
What’s your overall summer vacation style.
Relaxed. I am always in sandals and usually a flowy dress. I love vintage, white lace dresses! I collect them–a fun shopping find while traveling.
What are you packing for your trip to Greece?
An Eres swimsuit. I have the classic black bikini–it’s hard to beat. For a beach cover-up I love the new poncho from Lisa Marie Fernandez. I always pack a White + Warren cashmere wrap–they’re great for the plane and chilly evenings. I love Ancient Greek Sandals (and how fitting!). I always stock up on new pairs each season. They are the best, and have the 3 C’s–classic, clean and chic.
What about beauty essentials?
I love the Josie Maran SPF47 sunscreen. For skincare I use all Dr. Colbert, M.D. products. His body and face illumino oils are life changing and smell delicious–good for after a long flight and great for a little shine on the legs for an evening out. Rodin lip balm, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, Burberry Fresh Glow, Giorgio Armani Lipstick in Incognito #103. Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray for hair…I never blow dry and I love beach hair, so this stuff is perfect for me. For my nail polish, I always switch it up depending on how I feel. I have been loving Essie “Demure Vixen”, and Essie “Haute As Hello” is fun for summer. A great staple nail color for me is Essie “Mucho Dinero.” It’s good for a nude toe as well.
Book you’ll bring?
Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler, as I feel I’m the last to read it. And The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. by Adelle Waldman (a new author). The book is about getting into the head of the dating man in NYC–sounds interesting to me. I’ve already purchased both, as the trip is without my daughter and I am very much looking forward to quiet reading time on the beach.
Camera you’ll bring?
I’m terrible and usually just use my iPhone but Greece does deserve an actual camera. I’ve had my eye on a Canon…maybe I’ll purchase one before I depart.
What’s the one item you never leave home without?
White + Warren cashmere wrap–it’s amazing on planes!
Are you an overpacker or underpacker?
I’m an overpacker. I always have good intentions and then right before walking out the door I add and add. I just never know and want to be prepared. Always a mistake because then I want to shop once I’m there and have no room to carry it all home. I’m hoping to travel light on this trip (that is always the goal!). I mean, how much could a girl need for a summer holiday in Greece?!
One surprising thing you always pack?
I always pack a travel candle. It really makes a space feel more at home. I love Jo Malone travel candles in Red Roses. Adds a nice touch, all should try it.
Do you have any packing tips?
Try to leave room for shopping. I love shopping ‘local’ on my travels. Some of my favorite treasures are from trips, and all have a story. Especially beachwear–I’m a sucker for it. And limit your shoes to keep your luggage weight down.
