As Brand Director of Perrin Paris, the luxury French leather goods brand founded in 1893, Chloe Perrin is constantly on the move—jetting between Los Angeles, New York, and of course her home base in Paris. Here, she tells us about her summer plans to take short mini-holidays throughout Italy and France, and the travel essentials she’s bringing along.
Where are you going on your summer holiday?
Because I’m spending the entire summer in Paris for work, I’ve planned little trips around France. I’m starting with the beautiful region of Bordeaux. I’ll be staying at Chateau Cordeillan-Bages. I’m looking forward to enjoying delicious food and wine with my boyfriend, and a really good book. After that I’ll be going to Capri, Italy for a few days. The flight from Paris to Naples is only 2 hours and easy to book last minute.
What type of luggage are you bringing?
I use a small black Rimowa suitcase that I can carry on the plane with me. I love traveling light.
What type of carry-on bag will you take?
I always travel with my Perrin Paris black leather backpack—it’s chic and practical.
What are you packing for your summer vacation?
I’m packing very light for Bordeaux; a great pair of sneakers for walking all day, jeans by J Brand and Gap, an elegant evening outfit for a gourmet dinner—most likely a black, sleeveless, Alaia dress and simple Zara heels, and finally a great bathing suit because the chateau where we are staying has a pool. I’ll also bring my navy Armani jean jacket in case it gets chilly at night.
What beauty-essentials are you bringing?
Guerlain Parure de Lumiere foundation; Stila coral blush and eye shadow palette, and Maybelline Great Lash mascara—a trustworthy staple. At night I remove it all with an organic cleanser and apply tons of moisturizer, both by Brigitte Beauté (my amazing French facialist in Beverly Hills). I also like using Avene body oil for tanning.
What nail polish color will you wear?
A rich red wine color—to complement my surroundings in Bordeaux. And a turquoise-blue to match the water in Capri!
What’s your go-to outfit for the plane?
On the plane I usually wear a comfy pair of Gap jeans, a light Rick Owens cashmere sweater, my Puma sneakers and a Perrin Paris backpack.
What’s the one item you never travel without?
I never travel without my leather eye mask.
One surprising thing you always pack?
Pretty stationary—in case I feel like writing a letter to my family or a friend.
Do you have any packing tips?
Truth be told, I’m not the most organized person when it comes to packing, but I’ve learned to color coordinate my clothing before leaving. Unless I’m going someplace tropical, I like to bring basic colors that all work together such as beige, white, black and navy. A pair of gold or silver sandals tie-in beautifully with those colors as well.
