When I was at the airport last week, with hours to kill before my connecting flight, I was perusing the web and stumbled upon this fabulous Louis Vuitton vanity case. Immediately I started fantasizing about owning it and what I’d fill it with…and most importantly where I would take it (I was thinking the newly remodeled Ritz in Paris…I think it would look decadent perched on the bathroom counter next to the gold swan faucet).

The first thing I’d put in it would be Bioderma Sesibio H2O—I do not go anywhere on the planet without this product (seriously it is always in my bag!)! It’s like magic for my face. I just add a bit to a cotton-pad and swipe it across my face and it keeps my skin clean and glowing. I use it in the morning and again at night to remove my makeup (it dissolves all of the grime within seconds…how?…I told you it’s magic). I never use water or cleansers on my face—just this stuff! It’s a cult-favorite of in-the-know French girls and beauty insiders and I stock-up wherever I can find it.
I’m a girl who likes a little ‘shimmer’ on my skin (yes, even in the winter) and love this oil from Tom Ford. Bare legs in the winter need a little ‘something’, don’t you think?
I’m a big fan of Byredo scents and am currently loving their body lotions—Blanche is one of my favorite scents (it’s a bit florally but ultimately it just smells ‘clean’)…fun fact: it’s also the favorite scent of Victoria Beckham. They make great hand creams as well—I keep one in my bag and it doubles as perfume when I’m out and need to freshen-up a bit (really great when you’ve just come in from the pool or the beach for lunch and want to smell wonderful).
I’ve been using this Givenchy cheek stain lately and really loving it. I prefer some color on my cheeks regardless of the season. This has tiny micro-beads in it and they ‘pop’ as you rub it into your skin, gently dispersing a pink glow. Really cool!
Winter, spring, summer or fall my skin needs oil (I am super dry!). This Magnolia oil from Leonor Greyl is lovely.
When I’m on vacation the last thing I want to worry about is my hair—and if I can make it last a bit longer by not having to wash it then sign-me-up! This dry shampoo from Klorane (another French pharmacie must-have) works like a dream and allows me to linger a bit longer at the beach before rushing to meet my friends for pre-dinner cocktails…it’s truly a time-saver.
Dry lips are painful (and not pretty to look at). Lip balm is my all-time favorite item, and when I’m traveling I slather it on. Planes and hotel rooms are usually without moisture and this rose-scented balm really does the trick to keep my pout hydrated and nourished.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again this Vintner’s Daughter serum is divine! Perfect to apply pre-flight (or in-flight), and of course before bed, it’s loaded with 22 organic oils. My skin loves it almost as much as I do! It’s expensive but totally, totally worth it.
