If I haven’t already told you, now is probably as good a time as any: I’m obsessed with stripes.  Obsessed!  Like, bordering on addiction. Striped clothing, beach towels, straws in my cocktails—you name it and I love it all! I even have an entire section of my closet dedicated to my…ummm…’compulsion’, some might call it.  So when I saw this fabulous pink and orange striped swimsuit from Solid & Striped (one of my fave brands) I swooned, got heart palpitations, and then bought it right away.  I was looking for something fun and bright and happy to wear in Honolulu and this fits the bill.

I also really love this sassy aqua and cream bikini and I adore the high-cut leg on this Norma Kamali suit (so 80’s fabulous—especially worn with a classic pair of Ray-Bans). The tiny stripes on this bandeau bikini from Mikoh would work perfectly in any destination, as would the subtle stripes on this bikini from Made by Dawn (love the delicate ruffles too!). I think the colors on this Zimmermann bikini are great and really pop (very sexy!).

The diagonal-stripes on this one-shoulder La Perla swimsuit really create a slimming effect (very sleek and sophisticated). And  this is a great bikini to swim in because of the tank-style top.  If you’re looking for something a bit more fun you cannot go wrong with this ruffled suit from Lisa Marie Fernandez (I cannot tell you how many girls come up and ask me about this suit! Everyone loves it!). The little scalloped-edges of this striped-pattern suit are so dreamy and sweet!  On a recent trip to Cabo I saw a girl wearing this Stella McCartney suit by the pool (she paired it with these Balenciaga slides and I immediately wanted to be her best friend).  Another fave designer, Proenza Schouler, added flowers and stripes on this bikini and I just love it!

J.Crew also makes some fantastic striped swimwear: I love this fun combo where the stripes are going all directions, and this one with the red color contrast is cool.  This bandeau, ruffled one-piece (made from Italian seersucker) is going to be quite the show-stopper this summer (so excited to wear it!). Of course if protecting your skin from the sun is important then these stylish rash guards can’t be beat (I always pack one when I travel).

And last, but certainly not least, is this to-die-for crochet bikini that is coming with me to Jamaica later this year—I just love the color-combo of the stripes…perfection!
